Winemaker Notes: Notable black, purple, opaque color showcases a deep dark wine with tons of Red Mountain fruit. Black raspberries, plumbs, soft leather, flowers and a cabinet of spices are present in the nose. A big powerful and rich mouthfeel exhibits deep flavors of raspberries, blackberries and toasty oak. Lower tannins and mouthwatering structure make this wine hedonistic and pure with a lengthy finish.
Press Reviews
Plums, currants and dried flowers on the nose. Full-bodied with powdery tannins. Rich and plush on the palate. Ripe black fruit and black tea wash over the palate, in harmony through the long finish.
Juicy and fresh-fruited with a dense nose, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon starts with ripe aromas of dusty black cherry skin and succulent plums before showing hints of pencil lead and brown baking spices. Full-bodied, lush and firm, the mid-palate offers layers of complexity that continue to evolve with a firm tannic edge and succulent acidity. This spectacular wine concludes with a long, lingering finish and is a no-brainer at this price.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon packs a wallop with a burst of rubbed sage, black raspberries, exotic spice and dark chocolate. This is silky and elegant to the core, with tart wild berries and mounting mineral tones that add a youthful tension throughout. Masses of salted licorice and dried black cherries linger incredibly long under an air of violet florals. The 2019 punches well above its price point. It's a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot from Red Mountain that was refined for 18 months in 50% new French oak.
