The Jolie-Laide ‘Glou d’Etat’ is a vibrant and playful red blend that celebrates the unconventional beauty of natural winemaking. Crafted by Scott Schultz, who produces only 500 cases a year, this wine is a testament to minimal intervention and artistic expression, with a new label design created by a different artist for each vintage.
A blend of Valdiguié, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Carignan, it undergoes carbonic maceration, resulting in lifted, aromatic notes of raspberry candy, rose petals, and violets. The palate is fresh and juicy, bursting with flavors of ripe cherry, candied red apple, and soft tannins, making it an easy-drinking, fruit-forward wine that’s best served with a slight chill.
A fantastic companion to casual fare, it pairs beautifully with quesadillas filled with Oaxaca cheese and carnitas, or any dish that complements its bright acidity and playful energy.
