Crafted from grapes grown in four distinct Cabernet vineyards and premier Petit Verdot and Malbec sites, this wine reflects the diverse elevations and soil textures of Stellenbosch's Jonkershoek Valley. Despite varying textures, the decomposed granite soils rich in iron impart a consistent depth of character to the wine. The organic-in-conversion vineyard harvested in March 2020 saw careful natural fermentation, followed by 20 months of French oak barrel maturation (30% new), with no fining or filtration, ensuring purity and complexity.
This vintage boasts vibrant blackberry aromas accented by tea-leaf and cedar nuances. On the palate, dark fruit and mocha flavors unfold with polished richness, supported by a finely balanced acidity. The finish is long and elegant, framed by the refined tannins characteristic of Jonkershoek Valley wines. Vegan-friendly and a testament to meticulous winemaking, this blend delivers exceptional quality and balance.
