This charming family-owned estate located in Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley has taken a bold stance by championing Italian grape varieties, alongside equally delightful Rhone varieties and Zinfandel. The outcome of their endeavors is nothing short of impressive. One particular standout is the Biano de Campo, swiftly earning the admiration of our staff here at K&L.
This wine is a distinctive blend, consisting of 43% Vermentino, 30% Fiano, 16% Biancolella, and 11% Falanghina. It undergoes fermentation and aging in both concrete and stainless steel tanks, with malolactic fermentation deliberately blocked to maintain its exceptional freshness and vibrant character. While these grape varieties might not typically share the same vineyard space in their native regions, they harmonize beautifully here. The Biano de Campo is marked by its lively and fruity nature, offering a delightful combination of playfulness and depth. It's a wine that can be effortlessly enjoyed for its easy quaffability or savored for hours of contemplation.
